Engineer

NielsenIQ (NIQ) in Pune, Maharashtra, India, is seeking a Mid Engineer with expertise in Python, NodeJS, and TypeScript. You will collaborate with engineers, development teams, and Scrum Masters to achieve critical business objectives. Join a team of skilled technologists focused on learning, data mining, and prototyping advanced technologies.

Our team primarily develops in Python, focusing on operationalizing Machine Learning (ML) models for our Research team. This involves building training pipelines, often using AzureML, integrating inference code, and developing tools and patterns to enhance our MLOps lifecycle. You will be instrumental in creating and maintaining scalable infrastructure for AI/ML processes, ensuring near real-time delivery of results. Responsibilities include developing ML model training and deployment pipelines, conducting feasibility studies, supporting and troubleshooting data and application issues, and fostering good engineering practices within the team.

You will work with data scientists and diverse end-users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction, contributing to team building and motivation. Utilizing distributed computing, you will validate and process large datasets to derive insights and evaluate new technologies, including open-source frameworks. Developing technical documentation such as sequence diagrams, flowcharts, and manuals will also be part of your role.

Qualifications:

• 3-6 years of software development experience, including Python and RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability.
• Proficiency in Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Flask, and SQLAlchemy.
• Experience designing and developing relational databases with efficient SQL queries (MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Strong knowledge of Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience creating REST APIs and working with Microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with orchestration and messaging frameworks such as Airflow, Jenkins, and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud computing technologies, specifically Azure.
• Experience with Linux and container orchestrators like Kubernetes and Docker Swarm.
• Proficiency in collaborative development tools (Git, Confluence, Jira).
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Excellent English communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
