Engineer III GT – Carrier Shipment

Role Summary
You will join the Carrier Shipment team to build a strategic, carrier-neutral platform serving as the system of record for freight movement execution. As an Engineer III, you will lead design, development, and maintenance of Java-based backend services, APIs (GraphQL/REST), and event-driven integrations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical decisions on scalable, reliable solutions aligned with business priorities.
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Architects to translate workflows into software delivery.
- Guide troubleshooting for complex defects and production incidents.
- Design integrations using APIs and messaging platforms (Kafka/Avro).
- Mentor engineers in resilient design patterns and AI-powered tools like GitHub Copilot.
- Enable CI/CD practices, improve platform observability, and drive technical debt reduction.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 9+ years of software engineering experience with Java/Spring Boot.
- Expertise in GraphQL APIs, RESTful services, Kafka messaging systems.
- Proficiency with Maven, JUnit, Hibernate/JPA, SQL, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/GitHub).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain domains.
