Full Job Description
About the Role
Join LPL Financial as an Engineer II - Cloud Monitoring Engineer in our Hyderabad Global Capability Center. You will be a hands-on mid-level observability engineer within the Foundations team's CCOE (Cloud Center of Excellence).
Your Impact:
- Owning Observability Stack Implementation: Build and maintain dashboards, alerts, SLOs, and runbooks across AWS-native services (CloudWatch, X-Ray), Grafana/Prometheus, Dynatrace, OpenSearch/ELK, and ServiceNow.
- Terraform & IaC Leadership: Operate within our AWS-first multi-account landing zone. Consume private Terraform modules via Terraform Cloud/GitHub Actions to deliver infrastructure changes through well-scoped Pull Requests.
- Incident Response Excellence: Serve as a primary on-call responder for 24x7 production incidents, partnering with the Support team and senior leadership (AVPs/VPs) across US and India offices. Tune alert routing and feed lessons back into durable monitoring improvements.
- Leveraging AI & Innovation: Embed agentic AI capabilities (Cursor, Bedrock, MCP servers) into your engineering practice for tasks like alert triage, dashboard drafting from natural language, incident summaries, and runbook generation.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in cloud infrastructure/platform engineering; 1+ years of hands-on production AWS experience (multi-account) with Terraform Cloud/GitHub Actions.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- Observability Skills: Track record owning end-to-end engineering work; working knowledge of metrics, logs, traces across AWS and enterprise tools (Grafana/Prometheus/Dynatrace).
