Engineer

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Hardware Board Design Engineer to join our Engineering Group, specifically within Hardware Systems Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be instrumental in designing hardware platforms and systems that define the cutting edge of state-of-the-art IoT products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, software, and testing, to identify hardware testing needs and seamlessly integrate components into our products and systems.

This role requires 1-3 years of relevant experience with a strong interest in hardware design and system architecture, along with good product-level knowledge of IoT products. You will have the opportunity to work on designing Evaluation boards and Internal platform designs for IoT chipsets. Key responsibilities include high-speed board design, schematic design, layout reviews, test and integration, and hardware lifecycle management.

Our platforms integrate processors, graphics engines, digital audio, USB OTG, Bluetooth, GPS, SPI, I2C, DDR, MIPI, MDDI, and LAN functionality. Candidates should possess knowledge of these interfaces and power supply design. Proficiency in EDA tools like PowerSi and ADS, along with the ability to develop automation scripts using Python, is desired. Excellent technical and communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams such as BBSYS and Chipset Architecture. A good understanding of mechanical design and layout is necessary for effective collaboration with Mechanical and CAD teams.

The ideal candidate will quickly assimilate onto projects, understand technical specifications, develop hardware designs, apply integration and lab skills, demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, and work closely with software and RF engineers. You will support the bring-up of MSMs, conduct DVT and MTP performance testing, and verify system designs to ensure they meet requirements. This is a role that offers independence with minimal supervision and requires strong verbal and written communication skills.
