Job Summary
This role is responsible for the comprehensive monitoring, identification, investigation, and analysis of all cybersecurity incident response activities within the organization. Key responsibilities include identifying security flaws and vulnerabilities, responding to cybersecurity incidents, conducting threat analysis, and addressing detected incidents. The role involves performing network and software vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, utilizing reverse engineering techniques for application, operating system, and network vulnerability analysis and exploitation. Identifying intrusion paths and methods, isolating, blocking, or removing threats, and evaluating system security configurations are crucial. This position requires evaluating findings, performing root cause analysis, and analyzing complex software systems to understand their functionality and intent. The role also addresses highly complex malware and intrusion issues, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of countermeasures, system integration, and tools specific to Cyber and Information Operations. This position operates with moderate guidance in its area of expertise.
Core Responsibilities
- Monitor networks for security events and alerts, identifying potential and active threats, intrusions, and compromises.
- Restore environments post-incident and ensure robust detection capabilities for emerging threats.
- Fulfill service requests from internal and external teams.
- Maintain an advanced understanding of current cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, attack vectors, responsible groups, motivations, and techniques.
- Continuously assess evolving threats and new technologies, solutions, and services through research to stay ahead of them.
- Potentially perform documentation, vetting, and weaponization of identified vulnerabilities for operational use.
- Evaluate event flows to identify common risks and vulnerabilities and develop/implement solutions.
- Assist with security audits, risk analysis, network forensics, and penetration testing.
- Provide support in monitoring the security of designated networks and systems.
- May prepare detailed incident reports and technical briefs for the IT security team.
- Conduct After Action Reviews (AAR) to refine the response process, including updating playbooks.
- Familiarize yourself with company goals and strategies to achieve short-term objectives.

- Consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion on significant matters.
- Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules as needed.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Equivalent combinations of coursework, experience, or extensive related professional experience will also be considered.
