Role Overview

We are seeking an Engineer Software Applications I to join our Operations Technology team at Axcelis Technologies. This entry-level position is designed for new graduates ready to develop, test, support, and enhance custom business applications that drive efficiency in manufacturing, warehouse, and operational processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, maintain, and improve applications supporting critical semiconductor operations.
• Troubleshoot software issues to ensure high reliability, performance, and usability.
• Participate in code reviews, follow industry best practices, and create comprehensive unit, integration, and regression tests.
• Diagnose application issues, assist with releases/upgrades, and resolve business challenges directly with users.
• Monitor application performance to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, engineering, and warehouse teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Design automation and integration strategies that reduce manual work and support digital transformation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation for long-term sustainability and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with 0-2 years of experience (internships, co-ops, academic projects).

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with modern web frameworks like React or Angular.
• Experience with Node.js, REST APIs, Git, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
