ECT Engineer

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop and share technical expertise within project teams on the development, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of IT Infrastructure Operations solutions.
• Provide support in reviewing technical designs, ensuring alignment with the AZ Architecture Roadmap, Information Services Strategy, High-Level Designs, and regulatory requirements and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of business cases, Requests for Proposals, supplier selection, and evaluation of proposals.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to define infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with expected target benefits and value.
• Assist in the design, development, configuration, and documentation of infrastructure components.
• Provide support for performance analysis and document solution components.
• Gather and collate management reporting information on existing infrastructure solutions and services.
• Perform maintenance and support activities, routine analysis, and evaluation of resource requirements to maintain or expand service levels.
• Support investigations of problems within existing solutions using ITIL V3.0 principles.
• Identify and propose innovative solutions to enhance service performance.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Higher education with proven capability in a complex IT environment.
• Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with strong business acumen.
• Experience managing third-party suppliers.
• Experience working within a quality and compliance framework, adhering to policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, testing, and maintaining IT solutions.
• Experience in knowledge sharing and implementing changes.
• Proficiency in ITIL V3.0 practices and processes.
• Excellent communication skills, facilitating collaboration with geographically remote colleagues.
• Ability to translate and communicate technical information into business terms, aligned with AstraZeneca's business objectives.

Desirable Skills and Experience

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Good commercial awareness and understanding of the external market.
• Demonstrated initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural collaboration skills.
