About the Role

We are seeking a Distinguished Engineer to lead the architecture and design of Verizon's AI/ML practice, with a specific focus on agentic systems. You will spearhead the development and implementation of cutting-edge solutions while establishing industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architecture & Design: Develop technical high-level and low-level architecture for generative and agentic systems, including data pipelines, model training, deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data scientists and AI/ML engineers to foster collaboration and innovation.
• Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in Generative/Agentic AI, continuously evaluating emerging technologies for integration.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into innovative solutions.
• Ethics & Security: Champion best practices ensuring secure, reliable, and ethical AI systems.

What We're Looking For (Required):

• Bachelor's degree or 6+ years of work experience.
• 12+ Years Experience: In architecting, designing, and implementing large-scale AI/ML systems in production environments. Expertise required in Large NLP Projects, LLM fine-tuning (text generation, classification, summarization, QA), and agentic solutions at scale.
• Technical Skills: Deep expertise in Python for ML model development; familiarity with frameworks like NLTK, Spacy, Transformers, Pytorch, Tensorflow, Hugging Face. Knowledge of CNNs, RNNs (LSTM), GANs, and Reinforcement Learning is essential.
• NLP & Data: Proficiency in word embeddings, TF-IDF, tokenization, entity resolution, ontology, intents/entities/context analysis. Experience analyzing live chat/call conversations with agents.
• Infrastructure: Familiarity with GPU/CPU architecture for scaling Gen AI models and MLOps tools.

Nice to Have:

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related fields.
