Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced and visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead our AI-based Country Solutions Platform team based in India (Kolkata). In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI-driven solutions tailored for diverse country-specific markets. You will drive technical excellence, foster innovation, build high-performing engineering teams, and ensure our platform scales efficiently across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, architects, and specialists to foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Technical Vision: Define and execute the technical roadmap for the AI-based Country Solutions Platform, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface regularly with country solution representatives and compliance partners regarding regulatory work across different geographies.
• Architecture & Scalability: Architect scalable, secure solutions supporting multi-country deployments with robust localization capabilities.
• AI/ML Innovation: Oversee the design of AI/ML models that drive platform functionality and competitive advantage.
• Quality Assurance: Establish coding standards and QA processes to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Talent Development: Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and coach talent for professional growth.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in software engineering with a track record of delivering enterprise-scale solutions; 5+ years in leadership roles.
• Tech Stack: Deep expertise in AI/ML, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices architecture, and DevOps practices including Kubernetes/Docker.
• Languages & Frameworks: Proficiency in multiple programming languages relevant to AI development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-region deployments, finance/tax domain knowledge (IFS core competency), and delivering under tight regulatory deadlines.
• Contributions to open-source projects or active developer community participation.
• Expertise in AI model deployment optimization in production environments.
