Full Job Description

CommerceIQ is seeking a curious, hands-on, and customer-obsessed Director of Product Management with a strong AI focus to join our incubation team in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. This role is pivotal in developing our next-generation AI platform, the Retailer Copilot with Agents, which aims to automate retail workflows with intelligent agents.

You will be at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge Large Language Model (LLM) technologies with real-world retail challenges. Your responsibilities will include conceptualizing, prototyping, testing, and scaling agent-based solutions for our extensive customer base. This is an ideal opportunity for individuals who excel in zero-to-one environments, are passionate about AI innovation, and enjoy collaborating directly with customers to co-create future solutions.

Why Join Us:

  • Shape the future of AI agents in the retail sector.
  • Collaborate with visionary leaders and founding engineers.
  • Develop impactful products tested and deployed by Fortune 500 brands.
  • Gain comprehensive exposure to AI, product strategy, customer engagement, and go-to-market initiatives.

What You'll Do:

  • AI-Native Product Thinking: Identify and validate customer pain points suitable for automation via agents. Own the AI-first product strategy, leveraging LLMs, RAG, fine-tuning, and tool use for intelligent workflows. Design and evaluate product concepts focusing on agentic behavior, personalization, and embedded intelligence.
  • Rapid Prototyping & Testing: Create and test AI-driven prototypes, potentially with support from forward-deployed engineers. Drive iterative development based on customer feedback, evaluation metrics, and qualitative insights. Establish a framework for testing and prioritizing use cases and agent behaviors.
  • Customer Discovery & Co-Creation: Lead in-depth discovery sessions with senior retail and e-commerce stakeholders. Translate complex customer workflows into structured, agent-enabled solutions. Evangelize new concepts and build conviction with pilot partners.
  • Use Case Library & Playbooks: Develop a comprehensive and evolving library of agent use cases across various functions and retailers. Create internal playbooks and blueprints for agent design, AI evaluation, and defining success criteria.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Collaborate closely with Applied AI, Forward Deployed Engineering, Design, and Go-to-Market teams. Act as a mini-CEO for your use cases, managing them from exploration through launch and customer adoption.

What You'll Bring:

  • 5-10 years of experience in product management or related fields (AI prototyping, ML PM, solutions engineering with a PM mindset).
  • A demonstrable interest in AI, including LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation methods.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping tools or notebooks such as LangChain, Streamlit, or Python. A technical mindset and aptitude are essential, even without a formal engineering background.
  • Strong product intuition and the ability to simplify complex systems into intuitive user experiences.
  • Proven experience leading customer conversations, conducting discovery interviews, and testing early concepts.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, a high degree of ownership, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, 0-to-1 environments.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% for customer immersion and pilot programs.
  • A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.

Nice to Haves:

  • Background in retail, e-commerce, or SaaS for enterprise workflows.
  • Experience building agent-based systems, copilots, or AI assistants.
  • Previous experience in a startup or incubation team environment.

CommerceIQ is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
