DevOps Platform Engineer

About the Role

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a talented DevOps Platform Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in Mumbai. This role involves designing, implementing, and managing robust CI/CD pipelines, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Azure DevOps, AWS CloudFormation, and Terraform. You will be instrumental in developing automated testing frameworks to ensure the delivery of high-quality code and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements using Agile methodologies. A key aspect of this position will be troubleshooting complex infrastructure deployment and management challenges on both Microsoft Azure and AWS platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing Azure DevOps, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and modern cloud service management and deployment techniques.
• Develop and refine automated testing frameworks to guarantee the integrity and quality of code deployments.
• Partner with diverse teams to identify opportunities for process enhancement and execute changes in line with Agile principles.
• Provide expert troubleshooting for intricate issues related to infrastructure deployment and ongoing management on Microsoft Azure and AWS.

Technical Proficiencies:

• Cloud Platforms: Deep understanding of AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in Terraform for managing infrastructure.
• Containerization: Proficiency with Docker and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• CI/CD Tools: Experience with Github Actions and Azure DevOps for automated workflows.
• Scripting Languages: Strong command of Python and Bash scripting.
• Monitoring Solutions: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack for system observability.
• Configuration Management: Experience with Ansible for automating configurations.
• Networking: Knowledge of VPC, VPN, DNS, and Load Balancers.
• Databases: Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, including scaling, replication, and backup strategies.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated strong understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Proven experience with major cloud computing platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
• Excellent proficiency in scripting languages, including Python and Bash.
• Educational Background: B.Tech/B.E. in Any Specialization, BCA in Any Specialization, B.Sc in Any Specialization, or any Post Graduation.
• Solid grasp of DevOps practices, including fostering a DevOps culture and automating infrastructure provisioning.
• Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery principles, including backup and recovery strategies.
