DevOps Engineer

NikahForever, a premier community matrimony platform in India, is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to join our team in Delhi. This role is ideal for an individual with 1-3 years of experience looking to grow in a dynamic environment.

You will play a crucial part in maintaining and enhancing our development and deployment workflows. Working closely with our development team, you'll support CI/CD pipelines, server management, monitoring, and essential cloud operations. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to learn and apply best practices in reliability and automation within the tech industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the setup and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment processes.
• Support application deployments on Linux servers (staging and production environments).
• Perform server health checks, analyze logs, and conduct basic troubleshooting.
• Maintain and update Docker images and manage containerized services.
• Engage with foundational cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure basics: compute, storage, networking).
• Configure and maintain monitoring and alerting systems, such as Prometheus/Grafana, CloudWatch, or Datadog.
• Assist in managing SSL certificates, domain/DNS configurations, and reverse proxies (Nginx/Apache).
• Manage access controls and secrets, including SSH keys, environment variables, and basic IAM.
• Document runbooks and deployment procedures for team reference.
• Support backup operations, apply basic security patches, and ensure uptime.

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in Linux fundamentals, including SSH, permissions, processes, systemctl, and log analysis.
• Solid understanding of networking basics: IP, ports, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS.
• Familiarity with Git and standard branching workflows.
• Basic scripting skills in Bash (Python is a plus).
• Understanding of core deployment concepts: environments, releases, rollback strategies, and uptime.
• Strong debugging mindset with the ability to read logs, isolate issues, and communicate findings clearly.

Preferred Skills:

• Hands-on experience with Docker and Docker Compose.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.
• Basic familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS EC2/VPC/S3/IAM, or equivalents.
• Understanding of monitoring concepts: metrics, logs, and traces.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or Ansible.
• Awareness of Kubernetes concepts (pods, services, deployments).
