Devops Engineer/ Cloud Engineer

TraceLink is seeking an experienced, driven, and passionate engineering team member with expertise in programming, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure. As part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) group, you will play a critical role in maintaining visibility and ensuring the scalability of TraceLink's global platform. You will have opportunities to leverage your strengths, guide scalable platform development, and collaborate closely with various engineering stakeholders. This role operates within a global, inclusive team focused on AWS cloud-based deployments. Your primary responsibilities will include ensuring services run smoothly, continuously assessing and reducing toil, improving service availability and reliability, and optimizing AWS resource usage across multiple environments to deliver cost-effective services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain high availability, performance, and reliability of services, meeting customer expectations and defined OKRs as a member of the SRE core team.
• Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to maintain and refine the backlog of user epics for prioritized opportunities.
• Design, build, document, and test new tools and technologies within an Agile development framework.
• Maintain and improve existing tools to eliminate bugs, enhance performance/efficiency, and extend capabilities.
• Actively participate in the development process, deliver on commitments, communicate issues effectively, and collaborate with team members and other departments.
• Propose improvements to tools and processes, and assist in defining sprint epics and stories based on business priorities.
• Participate in planned releases and outage triage impacting infrastructure, collaborating closely with relevant teams.
• Contribute to blameless postmortems and refine playbooks to reduce Mean Time To Recovery (MTTR).
• Provide on-call support following a Follow the Sun model.

Qualifications:

• 1 to 3 years of progressive experience as an SRE, DevOps, or Systems Engineer.
• Solid understanding of cloud deployment and management best practices.
• Must have hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience with Observability Tools.
• Proficiency in DevOps/SRE practices and build/release pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and exposure to AI/ML is a plus.
