Job Title: DevOps Engineer

Purpose

We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and maintain robust automated build systems, manage source control repositories, and integrate essential tools like static code analysis and IP compliance scanners into our development workflow. This role requires a solid understanding of DevOps principles, version control strategies, and automation tools to enhance build reliability, code quality, and overall development efficiency.

Areas Of Responsibility

• Automated Build and CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and maintain scalable automated build scripts, manage build schedules (daily/weekly), and ensure efficient, reliable CI/CD integration. Collaborate with development teams to optimize build workflows.
• Source Control Management: Administer source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN), enforce best practices for branching, merging, and versioning, and optimize repository performance.
• Static Code Analysis: Automate static code analysis checks, integrate quality tools into CI/CD pipelines, and provide actionable feedback to developers based on generated reports.
• IP Compliance & Violation Analysis: Develop scripts to scan code for IP violations, conduct audits, and work with legal/compliance teams on remediation plans.
• Build Analytics & Log Management: Implement analytics for build performance monitoring, manage build logs using solutions like NFS, and perform root cause analysis from log data.
• Collaboration & Support: Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver new tooling and infrastructure features, provide ongoing support to development teams for build and version control issues, and participate in code reviews.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and emerging DevOps technologies, propose and implement process improvements, and share knowledge through documentation and workshops.
• Scheduler & CI/CD Management: Configure and manage CI/CD platforms like Jenkins, set up job schedulers for task automation, and utilize JIRA for tracking build-related issues and enhancements.

Experience and Qualifications

• 2-8 years of experience in software development and build automation.
• Proven experience with source control management and CI/CD tools.
• Experience in developing and maintaining build scripts and code analysis tools.
• Bachelor's or Diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of source control systems (e.g., Git, SVN).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).
• Experience with static code analysis tools (e.g., SonarQube, ESLint).
• Understanding of IP compliance and licensing issues.

Technical and Behavioural Skills

Role Qualifiers:

• Diploma/BCA/MCA or degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
