DevOps Engineer

What you’ll do:

Collaborate with your team to execute strategy, direction, and priorities, developing solutions that align with business needs.

Coordinate DevOps efforts on multi-disciplined engineering projects from design through implementation, serving as an expert resource for fellow engineers.

Maintain in-depth knowledge of Division goals and strategies, driving business objectives and improvements that impact division-wide metrics. Your work will serve as a benchmark and guideline for others in the organization.

As a DevOps Engineer for BLC, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining DevOps functionality that automates software building and test execution for embedded operating systems. This is a highly impactful position within Eaton that will provide you with great visibility throughout the entire organization and abundant opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
• Over 3 years of overall experience, including a minimum of 2 years in creating/maintaining CI/CD pipelines and 2 years in software development.

Skills:

• Administration of pipeline orchestration tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Experience with microservice deployment, Docker containerization, and orchestration systems like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Mesos.
• Experience deploying and managing cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code with Terraform within a pipeline.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell Scripts.
• Utilization of SAST and DAST tooling within automation pipelines.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Defender for remediating vulnerabilities in infrastructure and application code.
• Ability to maintain and manage both Windows and Linux environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health, system security, site stability, and performance to ensure efficient use of computing resources.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• IoT device knowledge.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python and C#.
• Experience working within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.
• Experience writing functional and integration tests for Continuous Integration and Deployment frameworks.
• Experience developing or enhancing complex/large-scale test frameworks and libraries.
• Experience in using tools like Sleuth to manage DORA metrics.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Robot Framework, TestNG, Junit, or similar build and unit testing frameworks.
• Proficient understanding of Source Control software and Code Collaboration tools (Git); experience with Issue and Project Tracking software (JIRA, TFS, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, comfort working in ambiguity, and process management expertise.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams, both locally and internationally.
