Desktop Support Engineer - Mumbai, India

Indus Systems & Services is seeking a motivated Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Mumbai. This is a permanent role for individuals with 1-3 years of experience in IT support.

Key Responsibilities:

System Setup & Maintenance

• Install, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems (Windows 7/10) and Microsoft Office suites (2007–O365).
• Configure and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals within workgroup and domain environments.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on hardware devices such as printers and scanners.

Hardware & Software Management

• Monitor and troubleshoot hardware devices, drivers, and system components.
• Replace faulty hardware components, including motherboards, RAM, HDDs, and SMPS.
• Install and manage client applications and antivirus software.

User Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide Level 1 (L1) technical support and remote assistance using tools such as VNC, AnyDesk, Ammyy Admin, and TeamViewer.
• Configure Outlook email clients and resolve associated issues.
• Diagnose and resolve basic networking issues, escalating complex problems as needed.

Asset & Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate IT asset records and manage inventory.
• Support IT procurement processes and asset lifecycle management.

Active Directory & Administration

• Manage user accounts, access rights, and permissions through Active Directory.

Customization & Compliance

• Configure and customize desktop hardware setups according to user or site-specific requirements.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in Desktop Support or IT Support roles.
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, computer hardware, and fundamental networking concepts.
• Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and time management skills.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, MCP, or equivalent are advantageous.

Shift Requirement:

• Candidates must be comfortable working in night shifts.
