Design Engineer

This role involves collaborating with global and local engineering teams to develop concept designs and final designs for New Product Development (NPD) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) programs. Responsibilities include performing design calculations, executing product validation tests with the support of the testing team, and preparing design documentation for gate reviews. The position requires close collaboration with manufacturing teams and suppliers for Design for Manufacturing (DFM) processes. Key tasks also include preparing technical files for product certifications relevant to the valve industry, supporting sales and marketing literature, and creating technical documentation such as Instructions for Use (IoMs), brochures, and Technical Data Sheets (TDS). The role entails generating 3D part and assembly models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and engineering Bills of Materials (BoMs). Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management.

The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical engineering design fundamentals (static mechanics) and valve domain experience, with a continuous drive for innovation and improvement in product and process design. Key qualifications include 2 to 4 years of relevant experience, with butterfly or other valve design experience being a distinct advantage. A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials used in the valve industry, and strong analytical/problem-solving skills are essential. Experience with new product designs, development, and design verification tools such as 6 Sigma, GD&T, DFMEA, QFD, DFM/A, and engineering calculations is required. Knowledge of international standards (ASME, API, EN, ISO, BS valve standards) and ISO 9000 quality procedures is necessary. Proficiency in CAD software (Inventor, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Creo) and extensive experience with Enovia are critical. Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems is beneficial. The role also requires familiarity with measuring equipment for testing valves and actuators, and fluent English communication skills.
