Design Engineer - Mechanical Seals & Aerospace Products
Regal Rexnord is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team in Hyderabad / Secunderabad, Telangana, India. This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design and development of innovative mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, and other Rexnord Aerospace products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain solid models, drawings, and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) using SolidWorks.
- Support the development of product validation packages.
- Under the guidance of senior engineers, contribute to the design and development of mechanical seals, bearings, tooling, and other Rexnord Aerospace products, applying a foundational understanding of design tools, methods, and analysis.
- Perform load calculations in mechanical systems.
- Demonstrate resourcefulness in acquiring missing design data and finding solutions.
- Utilize hand calculations to derive design data.
- Maintain comprehensive product definition packages, solid models, drawings, and ECNs.
- Participate actively in Lean initiatives.
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product databases/records.
- Assist in resolving basic design problems, showcasing strong problem-solving aptitude.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution, with a minimum of 70% (7 CGPA) marks.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in design engineering or a related field. Previous experience designing mechanical components is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIA is preferred. Hands-on experience with SolidWorks is a significant advantage.
- Ability to create and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) according to ASME Y14.5-2009 standards and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Solid understanding of design calculations and meticulous attention to detail.
- Knowledge of metals and composites; a background in materials science is a plus.
- Exposure to machining processes, heat treating, and/or grinding is beneficial.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Exceptional English communication and presentation skills.
- Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) is preferred.
