Deployment Network Engineer

About the Role

As a Deployment Network Engineer at Accenture, you will be instrumental in designing and deploying robust telecommunication network infrastructures. Your responsibilities will include managing construction and adaptation services for new and existing point-of-presence and base station sites. You will also be responsible for the implementation, commissioning, and decommissioning of network equipment.

This role requires a strong understanding of Kubernetes and experience with Linux Containers Administration. A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is mandatory.

Job Summary

The chosen candidate will be tasked with the comprehensive deployment, configuration, administration, and maintenance of the SAS Viya 4 environment, which operates on the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP). The primary objective is to ensure the high availability, scalability, and optimal performance of the SAS analytical platform within a secure, cloud-native setup.

Key Responsibilities:

SAS Viya 4 Administration

• Deploy, configure, and maintain SAS Viya 4 components within an OpenShift/Kubernetes environment.
• Manage SAS identities, security protocols, and authorization for users and groups.
• Monitor and optimize SAS services, including CAS (Cloud Analytic Services), Compute Server, and various microservices.
• Troubleshoot application and system-level issues, collaborating with SAS Support as needed.
• Oversee backup, recovery, and patching processes for SAS Viya components.
• Implement upgrades, hotfixes, and configuration changes adhering to best practices.
• Integrate SAS with external systems such as LDAP/AD, databases, and object storage solutions (e.g., S3, Nutanix Objects).

OpenShift (OCP) Administration

• Manage and monitor OpenShift clusters that host SAS Viya 4 workloads.
• Perform cluster operations including node management, resource allocation, scaling, and health checks.
• Implement and maintain persistent storage, networking configurations, and security policies for SAS workloads.
• Automate administrative tasks using tools like Ansible, Helm, or Kubernetes manifests.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise security and governance standards.
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on cluster upgrades, performance tuning, and incident management.

Monitoring & Optimization

• Implement comprehensive monitoring and alerting for SAS and OCP components using tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or equivalents.
• Tune system resources (CPU, memory, storage, networking) to enhance performance and cost efficiency.
• Maintain logs and audit trails for compliance and effective troubleshooting.

Technical Skills Required:

Core Skills

• SAS Viya 4 Administration (CAS, Compute, Connect, Environment Manager, Microservices, Studio)
• OpenShift Administration (OCP CLI, Operators, Projects, Networking, Storage)
• Linux Administration (RHEL is preferred)
• Containerization and Kubernetes concepts
• CI/CD pipelines and YAML/Helm-based deployments
• Monitoring Tools: Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack
• Scripting: Bash / Python / Ansible

Additional Desirable Skills

• Experience integrating SAS Viya with external databases, object storage, or authentication systems (LDAP/SAML).
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) or hybrid deployment models.
• Understanding of DevOps and GitOps principles.
• Exposure to networking, security, and SSL/TLS certificate management.

• Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Additional Information:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Kubernetes is required.
• This position is based in our Mumbai office. Full-time work from the client office (Mumbai - BKC) is expected for all 5 working days; remote work is not available.
• A 15-year full-time education is a prerequisite.

Educational Qualification:

B.E. / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc. (Information Technology / Computer Science)

Certifications:

• SAS Certified Administrator (SAS Viya 4 / SAS Platform Administration)
• Red Hat Certified OpenShift Administrator (RHCSA / RHCA for OpenShift) or equivalent certification
