EY seeks a Technical Lead for its Risk and Compliance Engineering team in Kolkata, West Bengal. This role involves 4-8 years of hands-on development and design experience, with a preference for prior product-based IT development, full-stack engineering, machine learning, AI, and DevOps.

The opportunity lies within the EY Digital Engineering team, a specialized unit focused on the financial services marketplace. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver global perspectives, contributing to key industry groups such as Asset Management, Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, and Private Equity. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for creating source code aligned with target state functional specifications and implementing analytics-driven efficiencies using ML and AI techniques. EY Digital Engineering partners with clients to drive digital transformation, offering integrated advisory, assurance, tax, and transaction services. Key Responsibilities:

Product Design and Hands-on Development:

• Amend product designs based on functional specifications and perform efficient, optimized source code development.
• Evaluate and challenge existing tech stacks and API choices to incorporate industry best practices and ensure timely product delivery.
• Provide technical coaching and mentorship to team members, including conducting code reviews.

Python-led Full Stack Development:

• Lead by example in all aspects of software development, including front-end, back-end, APIs, data layers, third-party integrations, and AI models.
• Map functional specifications to product features to ensure comprehensive and accurate product development.
• Utilize critical thinking, strong communication, logical reasoning, and technical persuasion skills.

Quality Assurance:

• Perform techno-functional testing for product features, ensuring alignment with functional specifications.
• Automate testing processes using feasible approaches such as Excel/VBA, Python, or other available tools.

Collaboration & Support:

• Partner with architects and application teams to ensure secure solution delivery.
• Provide functional support across all delivery phases, including Sprints, Testing, and Hypercare.
• Guide and mentor junior technical analysts and testers.

Skills and Attributes for Success:

Required Skills:

• 4-8 years of technical source code development experience, encompassing design leadership, hands-on development, and overall technical leadership.
• Experience in:
  • Risk Domain (Enterprise Risk, Operational Risk, Internal Controls, Internal Audit, Third Party Risk, etc.).
  • Back-end development with Python (primary), including API creation (Django or Fast API), microservices, data integration, and Data Structures and Algorithms.
  • Cloud and DevOps: Working knowledge of deploying applications on cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and implementing CI/CD pipelines with version control (Git).
  • Python-driven Machine Learning model implementation (ML Ops) and AI model ops.
  • Databases such as SQL (PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL (MongoDB).
  Good to have:
  • Front-end development (Angular, React, or similar).
  • MEAN or MERN stack exposure.
  • Node.js exposure.
  • BI platforms (Power BI or alike).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications: Cloud certifications (Azure preferred, AWS, GCP acceptable).
• AI or ML Certifications.
• Prior working experience in the Risk domain.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
