Full Job Description
Moon Technolabs is seeking a Mid-Level Database Specialist with at least 2 years of hands-on experience. This is an onsite position based in Ahmedabad, India.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in MySQL and PostgreSQL, with practical knowledge of MongoDB and Redis. You will be instrumental in ensuring database performance, availability, security, and data integrity through effective backups and production support. This role requires close collaboration with our Backend & DevOps teams to maintain robust database infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain MySQL & PostgreSQL databases (production and non-production environments).
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and index management.
- Conduct monitoring, capacity planning, and timely issue resolution.
- Implement comprehensive backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies for both SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Provide support for MongoDB (replica sets basics) and Redis (cache/persistence) functionalities.
- Enforce database security measures, access controls, and industry best practices.
- Support replication and high availability configurations.
- Collaborate with development teams on query optimization and database migrations.
- Develop and maintain documentation, runbooks, and provide incident/on-call support.
Required Skills
- Solid DBA experience with MySQL + PostgreSQL.
- Working experience with MongoDB + Redis.
- Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) environments.
- Cloud platform experience (AWS/Azure/GCP) is advantageous.
- Basic scripting skills in Bash/Python are preferred.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools (e.g., Percona, pgAdmin, CloudWatch).
