About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer with a focus on databases to enhance our product experience. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and managing large-scale database systems, ensuring their continuous availability, reliability, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, model, implement, and size large-scale systems using Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.
• Ensure 24x7 provisioning, availability, reliability, performance, security, maintenance, upgrades, and cost optimization for databases.
• Conduct capacity planning for large-scale database clusters.
• Automate database provisioning, deployments, routine administration, maintenance, and upgrades.
• Address business-critical incidents (P0/P1) within SLAs, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions.
• Synchronize data between multiple data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL to Elasticsearch, Snowflake to Elasticsearch).
• Design, document, and benchmark Snowflake or MongoDB configurations.
• Perform database maintenance, backup, health checks, alerting, and monitoring.
• Establish and enforce processes and best practices for database management.
• Identify and tune long-running queries to improve database performance and reduce costs.

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with adaptability to business needs.
• Hands-on experience with SQL query writing and scripting languages such as Python.
• Demonstrated experience with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• In-depth knowledge of at least two of the following: MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Snowflake, or MySQL is a plus.
• Experience setting up high availability, replication, and incremental backups for various datastores.
• Proficiency in setting up database security best practices, including encryption, auditing, and role-based access control.
• Understanding of DB design principles, partitioning/sharding, and query optimization.
• Expertise in troubleshooting database performance issues in production environments.
• Experience managing medium to large-sized production databases, both cloud-managed and self-hosted.
• Proven experience in building proof-of-concepts, evaluating new solutions, and improving existing systems to support scaling and solve business problems.
• Knowledge/experience with Terraform, Jenkins, and Ansible is a plus.
• Familiarity with database monitoring stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Mandatory expertise in Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving skills for complex technical issues.
