Full Job Description
Join Comscore's Television Analytics team in Pune, India, as a Data Scientist. This role is integral to building and maintaining the data science methodologies that form the backbone of Comscore's projection systems for US national television, local television, and cross-platform measurement. You will significantly contribute to Comscore's measurement of Linear Television for both national and local markets. Working collaboratively with fellow team members and the Technology organization, you will handle large volumes of tune-level linear television data to construct algorithms, develop tools, and create custom projection solutions for precise cross-platform measurement within a dynamic business environment. Your responsibilities will include investigating and diagnosing issues, formulating hypotheses, developing strategies, creating visualizations, generating reports, and providing data-driven recommendations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize software such as SQL, Python/R, and UNIX/Linux, along with internal and third-party tools, to generate, analyze, and deliver data-driven insights.
- Interpret findings, present results, and propose alternative solutions to research management and business stakeholders.
- Ensure the accurate and timely production and delivery of syndicated product data, maintaining the integrity and validity of data for On Demand, Linear TV, Digital, and Cross Platform products.
- Develop analytical approaches to address high-level business questions and formulate insightful recommendations.
- Support the research and investigation of client-reported inquiries.
- Collaborate with Analytics, Engineering, and Best Practices teams to achieve business objectives.
- Develop routine analytical methods and proactively identify and propose solutions to potential issues.
- Contribute suggestions for improving methodologies and provide complex troubleshooting for analytical methods.
- Apply meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills to identify and rectify data issues, using statistical methods for adjustments and projections as needed. Drive process improvement initiatives across teams and functions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Comscore's TV methodologies.
Qualifications:
- A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Economics, Data/Computer Science, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computational Finance, Operations Research, Mathematics, or Physics.
- 2-4 years of experience in synthesizing research findings and constructing data-driven arguments.
- Proficiency in querying and manipulating data for analytics and visualization using SQL, Spark, R/Python, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp complex methodologies and apply creative problem-solving skills to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for conveying complex analytical approaches and findings.
- An intrinsic ability to analyze data to identify patterns, problems, and opportunities for analysis.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize effectively with management guidance to meet deadlines.
- Experience with the Media Rating Council (MRC) is considered a plus.
Shift: The regular shift hours are 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM IST. Occasional flexibility may be required for meetings with international teams. During the initial 4-6 weeks of onboarding and training, adherence to US Eastern Time hours (IST -9:30) may be necessary.
