Data Scientist

Join WebMD as a Data Scientist in Navi Mumbai, India, and play a pivotal role in solving challenging healthcare-related digital marketing problems globally. This permanent position requires 3+ years of experience and a Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. You will work from 2 PM to 11 PM IST.

Your responsibilities will include writing clean, efficient Python and/or R code for data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning. You'll apply these techniques to large datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights, and develop predictive models for various business applications. Hypothesis testing and experimental design to validate assumptions and optimize decision-making are key. Strong SQL skills, including window functions, are essential for data querying and manipulation. You will also ensure data quality and accuracy when working with extensive datasets.

Experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau is a plus for presenting data-driven insights to diverse audiences. Excellent communication skills are required to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership and clients. You will transform business questions into data requirements, collect and merge data, analyze it, link it to business realities, and present findings.

This role offers hands-on experience with real-world data science case studies and various modeling techniques, with opportunities to independently execute and lead analytical projects. You will develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to study physician prescribing behavior and WebMD campaign response, and build analyses to understand user engagement across WebMD products.

Technical skills required include must-have experience in data manipulation in SQL environments, and Python or R. Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with excellent presentation skills is also necessary. You must have experience developing statistical models such as hypothesis testing, regression, classification, and forecasting. Algorithm design and implementation skills in R or Python are essential.

Requirements:

• B.Tech/B.E./MSc Statistics from premier institutes with a minimum of 80% marks in 10th and 12th, and 75% in graduation.
• 2-5 years of relevant work experience in the analytics field.
• Proven experience in data science, statistical modeling, and machine learning applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or R programming languages.
• Solid understanding of statistical concepts, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Expertise in SQL for data querying and manipulation.
• Familiarity with dashboarding tools is a plus.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
