Data Scientist

Role Overview

HERE Technologies is seeking a Data Scientist in Mumbai, India, to develop and evaluate machine learning models for automation and quality enhancement. This role involves performing in-depth data exploration, feature engineering, and model training using extensive geospatial and real-world datasets. You will support the creation of ML pipelines and algorithms for inferring map features and predicting attributes. Key responsibilities include analyzing data and model outputs to identify insights, patterns, and opportunities for accuracy improvement. You will also collaborate with engineers and fellow data scientists to implement and test models in production environments, contributing to experimentation, model evaluation, and documentation within the project team. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a determined individual with the following qualifications:

• A degree (Master's preferred) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or Applied Analytics.
• A strong foundation in machine learning principles and statistical modeling.
• Proficiency in Python and commonly used ML libraries.
• Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets, perform data analysis, and create visualizations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with deep learning models or computer vision techniques.
• Familiarity with geospatial datasets or location-based data.
• Knowledge of data pipelines, ML experimentation frameworks, or model evaluation methods.
• Basic understanding of model deployment and production ML systems.
• Experience working effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams.
