Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist at IDFC FIRST Bank in Mumbai, India, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and scaling production-grade AI solutions. Your role will encompass end-to-end ownership of AI/ML systems, from initial concept and coding through to deployment, governance, and cross-functional delivery. You will translate complex business problems into robust AI solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and adherence to strong engineering and governance standards. Key responsibilities include engaging with stakeholders to define project scope and assess data readiness, planning project milestones, managing timelines, and driving initiatives to successful delivery. You will implement responsible AI practices, including validation frameworks, guardrails, and compliance controls, and effectively communicate progress, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes to senior leadership. Staying abreast of emerging AI models, frameworks, and techniques, you will apply relevant innovations to enhance our capabilities. Collaboration with business, engineering, data, and risk teams will be crucial for delivering enterprise-ready solutions.

Success in this role will be measured by the correct selection of AI approaches, models achieving agreed performance benchmarks and measurable business impact, and the stability and reliability of production systems. Cost-effective scalability, compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory standards, and clear stakeholder understanding of solution capabilities, risks, and limitations are also key success metrics.

Qualifications:

• Graduation: Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) / Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
• Post-Graduation: Master of Science (M.Sc) /Master of Technology (M.Tech) / Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
