Data Scientist

We are seeking a Data Scientist to drive data-driven decision-making through advanced analytics, process improvement, and machine learning research at Godrej Capital in Mumbai, India. The ideal candidate will develop and implement machine learning models for credit risk identification, fraud detection, collection prioritization, and customer propensity. Responsibilities include identifying business insights from data patterns, enhancing data systems in collaboration with technology teams, communicating findings to stakeholders, and leading junior analysts. You will also focus on data-driven approaches for opportunity identification and credit risk policy optimization. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring 2 to 5 years of experience, preferably in Risk Analytics within the BFSI sector. A strong quantitative background in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics is essential, along with proficiency in SQL, Python/R, statistical algorithms, and machine learning. Experience in scorecard development, portfolio monitoring, or policy analytics is highly valued. Excellent presentation and potential mentorship skills are a plus.
