About the Role

As a Data Scientist Intern, you will be an integral part of a team of specialists, contributing to data analysis using various methods and developing new visions for the future of our data-driven products.

Objectives:

• Collaborate with product design and engineering teams to understand and define project needs.
• Research and develop innovative statistical models for comprehensive data analysis.
• Clearly communicate findings and insights to all relevant stakeholders.
• Drive smarter business processes by applying analytics to derive meaningful insights from data.
• Stay current with the latest technical advancements and industry developments in data science.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in identifying and integrating new datasets that can enhance our product capabilities, working closely with the engineering team in the development of data products.
• Execute analytical experiments to help solve complex problems across diverse domains and industries.
• Identify relevant data sources and sets to mine for business needs, and assist in collecting large structured and unstructured datasets and variables.
• Learn and apply algorithms and models to mine big-data stores; perform data and error analysis to improve models; clean and validate data for uniformity and accuracy.
• Analyze data to identify trends and patterns, interpreting data with clear objectives.
• Support the implementation of analytical models in production environments by collaborating with software developers and machine-learning engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Seven or more years of experience in data science (Note: for an intern role, this likely refers to the team's overall experience or desired background for a potential hire after internship).
• Proficiency with data mining, mathematics, and statistical analysis.
• Advanced experience in pattern recognition and predictive modeling.
• Familiarity with tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, SQL, and programming languages like Java/Python, SAS.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, research-oriented group with multiple concurrent projects.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in statistics, applied mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Two or more years of project management experience.
• Relevant professional certifications.
