Data Scientist

About the Company

Our team is expanding with a mission to improve neural networks for analyzing satellite imagery. We are looking for talented Data Scientists who can research, test, and enhance models that classify terrain types and estimate object heights based on high-resolution images.

The Role

• Responsibilities:
• Research, develop, and optimize neural network architectures specifically for satellite image analysis.
• Conduct rigorous experiments to enhance model accuracy and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with our technical team to validate the quality and relevance of training datasets.
• Evaluate various models and approaches for terrain classification and object height estimation tasks.
• Continuously iterate on solutions based on performance metrics and evolving project needs.

Qualifications

A minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or Image Processing is required (PhD preferred). Candidates must be adept at adapting to new tasks swiftly while working both independently and collaboratively.

Required Skills

• Proven experience developing and fine-tuning neural networks for image classification.
• Strong background in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision.
• Proficiency in Python, Keras, Matplotlib, and Pandas.
• Familiarity with TensorFlow or PyTorch frameworks is a plus.

Preferred Skills

Nice to have: Experience with QGIS, GDAL, Rasterio, Transformer Neural Networks; knowledge of satellite image analysis, geospatial data, remote sensing technologies, and terrain classification techniques. This position offers the opportunity for researchers or academics to combine work with ongoing studies on a part-time basis.
