This Data Scientist III position at Walmart Global Tech India focuses on exciting Supply Chain problems within Sam's Club, a membership warehouse club known for high-quality products at exceptional prices. Sam's Club offers a curated assortment and develops innovative technologies like Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery. The team also supports various services including travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, and optical centers.
About the Team:
You will collaborate with talented data scientists to build robust, distributed, and scalable applications addressing complex Supply Chain challenges.
What you'll do:
- Apply and develop Machine Learning (ML) solutions to create efficient and scalable models for Walmart's scale.
- Solve complex, pivotal business problems for Sam's Club and derive actionable insights from vast datasets.
- Utilize data science tools and techniques, staying current with community advancements to tackle Sam's Club challenges.
- Collaborate with business, engineering, and science counterparts to deliver impactful business solutions.
- Present clear, actionable recommendations from complex analyses to business partners, influencing future strategies.
- Develop Proofs of Concept (PoCs), present findings lucidly to stakeholders, and evolve solutions.
- Transition solutions into production pipelines or APIs as required by the business.
- Research, learn, disseminate, and adapt new technologies to solve problems and enhance existing solutions.
- Adhere to Walmart's quality standards and contribute to the development and recommendation of process standards and best practices across the retail industry.
- Stay abreast of and extend the state-of-the-art in Machine Learning research.
- Integrate data science solutions into existing business processes.
- Develop and recommend process standards and best practices in Machine Learning specifically for the retail industry.
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree with 2.5+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
- A strong drive for change and the ability to adapt quickly.
- Proficient development skills for prototyping technical solutions.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A strong problem-solving attitude and analytical capabilities.
- Solid Python development experience, particularly with big data.
- Experience analyzing complex problems and translating them into data science algorithms, with a focus on computational efficiency and large-scale testing.
- Expertise in machine learning, including supervised, unsupervised, and Time Series analysis.
- Basic knowledge of Optimization techniques.
- Experience working with big data, identifying trends, patterns, and outliers in large volumes.
- Proficiency with SQL, relational databases, and data warehousing.
- Experience in ML Ops, with GCP experience being a plus.
- Experience in managing multiple stakeholders, data-driven storytelling, and handling multiple projects concurrently.
Location and Work Model:
This role is based in our Bangalore office for daily work, offering flexibility for associates to manage their personal lives. This is a back-to-office role.
