Data Scientist II

Amazon Business is seeking an experienced and passionate Data Scientist to join their innovative team in Gurugram, India. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact customer experience across the entire purchase journey, from product discovery to post-purchase. As a technical expert with substantial scope, you will collaborate with Business Intelligence Engineers, Financial Analysts, Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Engineers, and fellow Data Scientists. Your primary focus will be on developing and refining Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) models to optimize customer experience within the Amazon Business platform. We are looking for individuals who exhibit a strong bias for action, thrive in a startup-like environment, possess leadership qualities, and can independently manage medium-scale modeling projects. You will be responsible for defining data requirements, building statistically grounded methodologies, and developing tools to solve complex problems. The ideal candidate is highly technical, possesses deep domain knowledge, is eager to learn, and demonstrates a commitment to delivering results and fostering professional growth.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Data Scientist.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience with machine learning/statistical modeling data analysis tools and techniques, including understanding performance parameters.
• Proven experience applying theoretical models in practical, real-world scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in Python, Perl, or other scripting languages.
• Previous experience in a Machine Learning or Data Scientist role at a major technology company.
