Data Scientist I

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist I to perform sophisticated statistical, predictive, and machine learning analytics that improve business outcomes and minimize risk. The role involves designing and deploying data science solutions, producing visualizations, consulting with stakeholders, and advancing analytics capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently execute advanced data analytics ranging from classical econometrics to machine learning, neural networks, and natural language processing using structured and unstructured data.
• Create compelling data visualizations to communicate insights and influence outcomes among a wide array of stakeholders in Raleigh, NC and beyond.
• Take ownership of end-to-end data science solution design, technical delivery, and measurable business outcome achievement.
• Engage with cross-functional teams to identify business objectives and scope solution requirements through stakeholder meetings.
• Write, document, and deploy custom code in various environments (Python, SAS, R) to create predictive analytics applications with minimal guidance.
• Leverage internal code repositories for collaboration, sharing, and fostering continual learning across the organization.
• Research emerging methods and technologies to advocate for their adoption within Truist's data science capabilities.
• Maintain a strong risk management culture throughout design, development, and deployment practices by partnering with cross-functional teams on data governance rules.
