About the Role:

Policybazaar is seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual with an engineering background and strong statistical foundations to join our team as a Data Analyst. The ideal candidate will possess experience in managing large datasets, conducting root cause analysis (RCA) to extract meaningful insights, and facilitating data-driven decision-making through predictive analytics and sophisticated visualization tools. This role offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to our mission in the dynamic Indian fintech and insurance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sourcing Analytics: Identify and track historical sourcing patterns and trends, predict potential outliers or fraud, pinpoint optimal sourcing strategies across various stakeholders, and develop predictive models for sourcing.
• Claim Analytics: Develop prediction models for loss ratios and identify best-in-class claim management practices among stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports utilizing Power BI or Amazon QuickSight.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis and construct predictive models to inform and support critical business decisions.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex business challenges into actionable analytical solutions.
• Drive prompt, data-backed decisions through sound judgment and real-time analysis.
• Proactively identify and resolve data quality issues to ensure data integrity.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Solid foundation in Mathematics, Probability, Linear Algebra, Machine Learning, and Statistics.
• Hands-on proficiency in: SQL (Intermediate to Advanced); Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Advanced Functions); Power BI or Amazon QuickSight (Data modeling, DAX, visual storytelling); Python (Pandas, NumPy, basic ML/EDA libraries).
• Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and make swift decisions, even with limited initial information.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Good to Have:

Experience in revenue maximization, pricing, or yield optimization challenges.
