Data Scientist

SAP is seeking a Data Scientist to join our team in Gurgaon, India. In this role, you will be instrumental in the design, coding, testing, and quality assurance of software development within a dynamic team. You will be responsible for identifying and resolving issues in new and existing code, maintaining a high standard of attention to detail, reliability, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a team of highly technical and motivated developers.
• Work effectively with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones.
• Contribute to the full development lifecycle of projects, encompassing both customer-specific and SAP-defined initiatives.
• Implement backlogs for both functional and non-functional requirements.
• Design, develop, deploy, and monitor efficient AI/ML modules to power complex business applications.
• Adhere to SAP's agile engineering practices and processes, taking ownership of code from ideation through development, QA, and support across the full stack.
• Engage with multiple topics and technologies, with opportunities for continuous learning and enablement.

What You Bring:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in knowledge representation.
• A minimum of 4 years of industry experience in a Data Scientist role.
• A strong foundation in data science mathematics, including probability, statistics, and linear algebra.
• Extensive knowledge of various machine learning algorithms and concepts, with a focus on building predictive models and Generative AI.
• In-depth expertise in at least two of the following data science domains: Text Analysis and Natural Language Processing, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, Signal Processing, Image/Video Processing and Recognition, or Reinforcement Learning.
• Hands-on experience with computational packages such as Numpy, Scipy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, StatsModels, Keras, and Tensorflow, along with visualization tools.
• Desirable DevOps knowledge, including CI/CD, Jenkins, and Pipeline Management.
• High proficiency in SQL and a good understanding of relational databases.
• Prior experience in deploying machine learning models into production environments.
• Experience working with GPUs for model development.
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to articulate and explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences in a simplified manner, both in writing and verbally.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop new concepts and stay current with academic research.
• Prior work experience with SAP BTP is desirable.
