Data Scientist

Sutherland is seeking a skilled Data Scientist with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in developing, training, and deploying machine learning models, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ML environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong proficiency in Python, coupled with practical experience in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model optimization. A solid understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases, and the ability to work effectively with large datasets, are essential. This role also requires experience with statistical analysis, data visualization, and a broad range of machine learning algorithms, including regression, classification, clustering, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and time-series models. The position demands strong analytical thinking, effective communication skills, and the capability to deliver scalable, data-driven solutions in a collaborative setting. A Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field is required, along with a strong theoretical grasp of machine learning and deep learning frameworks. Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is crucial. Experience in developing and deploying ML models for NLP and computer vision tasks, with a demonstrable project portfolio, is highly preferred. Familiarity with NLP techniques (text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition) and computer vision concepts (image classification, object detection, image segmentation) is beneficial. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively are key.
