Full Job Description
As a Data Scientist in Chennai, India, you will be instrumental in establishing and scaling a data-driven culture focused on aggregation and analysis. Your role will involve uncovering patterns within data to improve consumer experiences and identifying strategic opportunities to achieve organizational goals. You will be responsible for leading the growth of our analytics capabilities across various internal departments and shaping our strategic direction in analytics. This position requires organizing and analyzing vast, diverse datasets from multiple platforms, identifying key insights to influence product strategy, and engaging in technical collaborations with vendors and partners. You will develop proof-of-concept models to validate concepts and work with business units to define analytical requirements and establish efficient reporting mechanisms. A significant part of this role includes designing and implementing advanced statistical testing for complex problem-solving and delivering clear, concise verbal and written explanations of analyses to senior management, translating findings into actionable strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the scaling of analytics capabilities across all internal disciplines and guide strategic direction in analytics.
- Organize and analyze large, diverse datasets across multiple platforms.
- Identify key insights and leverage them to inform and influence product strategy.
- Engage in technical interactions with vendors or partners regarding scope, approach, and deliverables.
- Develop proof-of-concept models to validate or invalidate concepts.
- Collaborate with all parts of the business to identify analytical requirements and formalize approaches for reliable, relevant, accurate, and efficient reporting.
- Design and implement advanced statistical testing for customized problem-solving.
- Deliver concise verbal and written explanations of analyses to senior management, elevating findings into strategic recommendations.
Job Requirements
- Master of Technology (M.Tech), Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics, or any quantitative field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an analytical domain.
- Excellent analytical, logical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience working with large datasets and big data systems (e.g., SQL, Hadoop, Hive).
- Strong aptitude for large-scale data analysis with a passion for deriving key insights from data.
- Expert working knowledge of various machine learning algorithms such as XGBoost, SVM, etc.
- Expertise in Data Mining, Statistical Analysis, Regression, Logistic Regression, Segmentation, Time Series Forecasting, Market Basket Analysis, Decision Tree, CHAID, Text Mining, Hypothesis Testing, A/B Testing, and Modeling.
