Data Scientist

Kavi India is seeking a motivated Data Scientist with over 2 years of experience to join their expanding AI & Data Science team in Chennai, India. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI applications, particularly focusing on Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and agentic AI systems.

Job Summary

As a Data Scientist at Kavi India, you will dive into data analysis and machine learning, with a strong emphasis on emerging AI paradigms. You will contribute to the development of intelligent, task-oriented agents and work with real-world Large Language Models (LLMs).

Key Responsibilities

• Clean, transform, and analyze diverse structured and unstructured data.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover actionable insights.
• Support the development and evaluation of both traditional and deep learning models.
• Assist in integrating LLMs into existing workflows using RAG pipelines.
• Collaborate with senior team members to build and enhance agentic AI systems for task automation.
• Contribute to the design and testing of knowledge retrieval systems, including vector stores and embedding models.
• Develop dashboards, visualizations, and documentation to clearly communicate findings.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python with libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, and either LangChain or LlamaIndex.
• Fundamental understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and LLMs.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and database interactions.
• A passion for AI advancements and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Exposure to RAG architectures and vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Chroma, Pinecone).
• Familiarity with LLM frameworks like the OpenAI API and Hugging Face Transformers.
• Knowledge of agentic AI systems, task planning, and autonomous agents.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and version control systems (Git).

This is a permanent position based in Chennai, India, requiring 2-4 years of relevant experience.
