Data Scientist Opportunity at Version 1 AI Labs

Version 1 is seeking a passionate Data Scientist to join our AI Labs team in Bengaluru, KA, India. You will leverage your strong experience in building solutions with open-source tools, including Python, Spark, and NLP. Experience with Transformers and a proven ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines are essential.

This role involves working on a diverse range of projects, encompassing traditional AI techniques like machine learning, predictive modeling, and NLP, as well as the latest advancements in multimodal large language models for image, video, and text generation and understanding.

We require a Data Scientist with excellent communication skills, a proactive learning attitude, and creative problem-solving abilities. A keen understanding of how predictive analytics can enhance business processes is crucial. The ideal candidate will be inherently curious, driven, a self-starter, and eager to take ownership of problems.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Scientist role.
• Graduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• Solid understanding of Spark.
• Strong foundation in statistics.
• Proficiency in using and understanding metrics.
• Expert programming skills in Python and SQL, along with experience in Data Science & ML frameworks (Scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch, etc.).
• Deep understanding of statistical and ML algorithms, methodologies, and approaches, including deep learning and LLMs (Gen AI).
• Experience working with Azure/AWS Cloud Environments.
• Proficiency in Python conventions, writing clean code, and testing functionality.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Demonstrable passion for technology and continuous learning.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Huggingface.
• Familiarity with Databricks.
• Experience in fine-tuning LLMs.
• Experience working with Azure OpenAI and AWS Bedrock.
• Experience working with offshore teams.
• Consultancy experience.
