Data Scientist

Role Overview:

Eloelo is seeking a Data Scientist based in Bengaluru to solve complex data problems end-to-end and influence product and business decisions through insights, experimentation, and modelling. You will collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Business teams to understand user behaviour, identify growth opportunities, design experiments, and build data-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse large and complex datasets to generate actionable business and product insights for the Bengaluru market.
• Partner with Product Managers and stakeholders to define success metrics, KPIs, and north-star metrics aligned with regional goals.
• Design, execute, and analyse A/B tests, experiments, and feature rollouts using rigorous statistical methods.
• Build and maintain dashboards and analytical frameworks for cross-functional teams within the organisation.
• Develop predictive models, user segmentation, and user behaviour models to drive engagement in India's competitive landscape.
• Identify opportunities across growth, retention, and monetisation tailored to local consumer needs.
• Translate business problems into analytical and machine learning solutions using Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and SQL.
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across all analytical workflows in the Bangalore office.
• Apply rigorous model evaluation and validation practices to ensure reliability.
• Work with Engineering and ML teams to productionise and monitor machine learning models effectively.
• Present insights, recommendations, and analytical findings to product and business stakeholders with clarity and impact.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 2–4 years of hands-on experience in Data Science or a related role (Mid-Level).
• Strong proficiency in Python including Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn libraries.
• Demonstrated strong knowledge of SQL with extensive experience working with large datasets typical of the Indian tech sector.
• Solid foundation in statistics, probability theory, and experimental design methodologies.
• Proven experience conducting A/B testing, hypothesis testing, and designing robust experiments.
• Ability to translate complex data findings into actionable product and business recommendations for leadership teams.
• Experience building predictive models using classification, regression, clustering, or similar advanced techniques.
• Deep understanding of model evaluation metrics, validation strategies, and end-to-end ML workflows.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills coupled with strong analytical thinking capabilities.
• Outstanding communication abilities and stakeholder management experience to bridge technical and non-technical audiences in Bengaluru.

Good to Have:

• Experience developing recommendation systems or personalisation engines for consumer-facing apps.
• Familiarity with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, Docker, or Kubernetes relevant to the Bangalore startup ecosystem.
• Hands-on experience with model orchestration, deployment pipelines, and monitoring frameworks.
• Familiarity with big data technologies including Spark, BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake for handling large-scale consumer internet data.
• Experience working within fast-paced environments in the consumer internet, media, gaming, social, or content platforms sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of data modelling principles and data warehousing concepts essential for scaling operations.
• Track record of experience processing real-time or high-volume consumer data streams typical of modern Indian digital platforms.
