Data Scientist

Join ABB in Bengaluru/Bangalore as a Data Scientist and contribute to our mission of helping industries outrun – leaner and cleaner. In this hybrid role, reporting to the Manager - Advanced Analytics and AI, you will drive the implementation of our analytics strategy across functional areas, aligning with business stakeholders. We are specifically seeking expertise in finance and manufacturing domains.

Your primary accountabilities will include:

• Leading cross-functional projects by employing advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to identify insights that inform strategic decisions and reveal optimization opportunities.
• Developing, building, and maintaining analytical models to support key business conclusions.
• Scaling analytics projects on cloud platforms to ensure smooth integration with business operations.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand their business needs, conducting end-to-end analysis from data gathering and inspection to delivering scaled results and presentations.
• Implementing agile methodologies throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products.
• Driving the collection of new data and refining existing data sources, while assessing the effectiveness and accuracy of new data acquisition methods.

Qualifications for this role include:

• A Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a data science role, with a strong focus on analytics and data modeling within cloud environments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen emphasis on product development.
• Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, and SQL for data manipulation and insight generation from large datasets.
• Familiarity with a range of machine learning techniques (e.g., clustering, decision trees, neural networks) and their practical applications and limitations.
• Solid understanding of advanced statistical concepts and techniques (e.g., regression, probability distributions, statistical testing) and their application.
• Experience with major cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and a good grasp of scaling analytics projects in these environments.
