Desible.ai is seeking a skilled Data Scientist to join our team in Bengaluru, India.

The Role

We are looking for a Data Scientist with 2–3 years of experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, and machine learning. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Python and SQL, capable of analysing complex datasets, developing predictive models, and building data workflows to support AI-driven business solutions.

The candidate will work closely with data engineers, business analysts, and technology teams to transform raw data into actionable insights and support the development of scalable, cloud-based analytical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Analysis: Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA), statistical analysis, and data visualization to identify trends and business insights relevant to the Bengaluru tech ecosystem.
• Predictive Modeling: Develop, train, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models for predictive analytics tailored to local market needs.
• Data Engineering Basics: Clean, transform, and prepare structured/unstructured data. Write Python scripts and SQL queries for extraction, transformation, validation, and analysis.
• Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain basic ETL/ELT pipelines to support automated data processing workflows in a cloud environment.
• Data Integration: Work with databases, APIs, cloud storage (AWS/Azure/GCP), and data warehouses to integrate diverse data sources common in India's growing tech sector.
• Quality Assurance: Support data modelling, quality checks, and validation processes.
• Cloud Proficiency: Utilize cloud-based analytics platforms (Databricks, Spark) for efficient dataset processing.
• Collaboration: Partner with engineering teams to improve data availability, reliability, and quality in our Bangalore office environment.
• Communication: Communicate analytical findings through reports, dashboards (Power BI/Tableau), and visualizations for stakeholders.
• Innovation Support: Assist AI and Generative AI initiatives as required by the business unit.

Required Technical Skills

1. Data Science & Analytics Core:
• Mastery of Python (pandas, NumPy) and SQL is essential for Bangalore-based roles.
• Proficiency in scikit-learn for implementing supervised/unsupervised algorithms.
• Solid understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, regression, and EDA techniques standard in the industry.
2. Basic Data Engineering:
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes for building robust data pipelines.
• Experience with SQL joins, transformations, and aggregations on relational databases.
• Familiarity with REST APIs (JSON/CXML) to integrate external services.
3. Cloud Platforms:
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider: Azure, AWS, or GCP (highly relevant for Indian startups).
• Familiarity with data lakes and storage solutions.
4. AI & ML:
• Knowledge of model evaluation metrics and feature engineering best practices.
• Bonus points for exposure to LLMs or Generative AI frameworks.
5. DevOps Lite:
• Basic understanding of CI/CD, Git version control, and workflow automation tools like Azure Data Factory.

About You & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field preferred by top universities globally and locally (IITs/NITs).
• Experience: 2–3 years of relevant hands-on experience.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical thinking tailored to solving complex business problems in Bangalore's competitive market.
• The ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, a crucial skill for cross-functional teams.
