Data Science Intern

ARKRAY, Inc., a leading Japanese medical device manufacturer, is actively seeking passionate and driven interns to join its Life Science team at the Pune R&D office. This exciting opportunity, commencing in July or August, focuses on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and medical imaging, aiming to significantly improve people's health through advanced techniques. As an intern, you will tackle complex challenges in time series 1D data (continuous glucose monitoring), RNA sequencing, and computer vision, with a particular emphasis on medical images. Your role will involve developing state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning algorithms, applying scalable signal processing and AI approaches to solve real-world problems. You will also be instrumental in communicating technical findings clearly and collaborating with our research teams in Japan to understand project requirements and data needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Address and resolve problems related to 1D time series (continuous glucose monitoring), RNA sequencing, and computer vision, specifically within the domain of medical imaging.
• Apply scalable 1D signal processing, machine learning, and deep learning methodologies to solve intricate challenges.
• Spearhead the development of advanced machine learning and deep learning algorithms tailored for medical datasets.
• Articulate highly technical results and methodologies in a concise and comprehensible manner.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with researchers in Japan to grasp requirements and request necessary data.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline from a Tier-1 or Tier-2 institution.
• A minimum of 1 year of programming experience in Python or C++, including proficiency with Pandas.
• At least 1 year of hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Solid understanding of classical time series algorithms, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision concepts.
• Demonstrated practical experience with machine learning and deep learning models.
• Ability to comprehend and implement research methodologies from leading academic conferences.
• Potential to contribute to Intellectual Property (IP) development, including patents and publications.
• High proficiency in Windows, Linux, Docker, PowerPoint, and Git commands.

Preferred Skills:

• Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific or engineering field from a top-tier college.
• Prior experience working with time-series, text, and sequential datasets in practical applications.
• A proven track record of research or industry experience in time series analysis, NLP, or tabular data analysis.
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries like Pandas and Scikit-learn.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or other cloud service providers.
• Publications in top-tier conferences are considered a significant advantage.

Work Environment:

This position offers flexibility with options for remote work or on-site presence at our Pune R&D office located at AWIFS (Co-working space), Elpro City Square Mall, MG Rd, Chinchwad Gaon, Chinchwad, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune, Maharashtra 41103.

Working Hours:

Standard working hours are from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a one-hour break.
