About the Role

As a Data Science Intern based in or working for Dexter's Tech (India), you will assist in analyzing datasets relevant to Indian industries, developing data-driven solutions, and applying statistical and machine learning techniques. The role provides practical exposure to data preprocessing, exploratory analysis, model development, evaluation, and visualization.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and preprocess diverse datasets for analysis in an India-centric context.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) using Python libraries like Pandas to identify patterns relevant to Indian markets.
• Assist in developing and testing machine learning models with guidance from senior engineers based in India.
• Apply basic statistical techniques common in the Indian tech sector.
• Create visualizations to communicate findings clearly to teams across India.
• Evaluate model performance, document results using standard tools preferred in India's data science community.
• Assist in preparing reports and project presentations for stakeholders in India.
• Research relevant data science techniques and tools available globally but applied with local constraints in mind.
• Collaborate with team members on practical projects focused on solving problems faced by Indian businesses.

Educational Eligibility

Currently pursuing or recently graduated in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related field from any accredited college/university (India).

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge of Python programming.
• Understanding of statistics and data analysis concepts taught in Indian universities.
• Familiarity with Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib/Seaborn is preferred.
• Basic understanding of machine learning algorithms (Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills in English for collaboration within Indian teams.
