Full Job Description
We are seeking a Data Quality/Data Governance Lead Analyst to join our team in Chennai, TN, IN. This role involves collaborating with Business, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to identify critical data elements, define data quality rules, and implement robust data quality measurement and monitoring processes. You will lead efforts to establish and refine data quality issue management and resolution processes, ensuring issues are identified, prioritized, and remediated effectively. Additionally, you will drive the implementation or modification of policies, procedures, and system enhancements to address current and future Data Governance gaps.
You will directly manage a team of Data Quality analysts, providing close day-to-day guidance and support. This includes helping team members understand requirements for data quality profiling and ad-hoc requests, and assisting in building the necessary logic. You will act as a Data and functional Subject Matter Expert (SME), supporting Data Governance and Data Stewards. This involves partner/stakeholder management, setting expectations, and prioritizing work for the team.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining project management trackers and providing regular updates to management and stakeholders. You will design, implement, and enforce strong end-to-end Data Quality engagement processes. This includes supporting team members in process re-engineering, optimization, and automation, and ensuring all required controls, checks, governance, and process documentation are up-to-date.
We foster productive team and one-on-one meetings, actively understanding and addressing team concerns, challenges, and roadblocks. The ideal candidate is proficient in formulating analytical methodologies, identifying data inconsistencies, anomalies, and patterns, and generating actionable business insights.
Tools and Platforms:
- Proficient in SAS, SQL, Teradata.
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint.
- Good understanding of Banking domain (Cards, Deposit, Loans, Wealth Management, & Insurance etc.).
- Familiarity with Audit Frameworks, Data Quality Frameworks, Risk & Control Metrics.
- Exposure to BI tools and technologies such as Tableau, Cognos, or SAS BI.
- Skills in Automation and process re-engineering/optimization.

- Education: MBA / Masters Degree in Economics / Statistics / Mathematics / Information Technology / Computer Applications / Engineering from a premier institute. BTech / B.E in Information Technology / Information Systems / Computer Applications (Preferred). Post Graduate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Econometrics, Management Science and related fields.
- Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in people management, delivering data quality, MIS, and data management, with at least 2-3 years of experience in the Banking Industry.
