Data Governance Analyst Job Description

MediaRadar, Inc. seeks a detail-oriented Data Governance Analyst to drive the execution of our taxonomy, rules, and reference data framework. This role focuses on translating governance standards into actionable artifacts—authoring and maintaining taxonomies, business term definitions, and data rules in our governance platform.

You will be responsible for:

• Authoring, maintaining, and versioning taxonomies, business definitions, and classification hierarchies
• Creating structured, testable data rules and applying consistent rule IDs across systems
• Analyzing rule libraries for duplicates, conflicts, and coverage gaps
• Maintaining metadata, documentation, and change history for traceability and auditing
• Supporting reference data certification and anomaly flagging
• Developing clear documentation and quick-reference guides for stewards and analysts
• Assisting in governance reporting, dashboards, and stakeholder updates

Key Success Metrics:

• Low rates of duplicate/conflicting rules and definitions
• Progress against taxonomy and reference data coverage targets
• Timely processing of rule requests within SLAs
• Complete auditable change history
• Operational use of standards in classification and quality workflows

Requirements:

• 2-5 years in data governance, data management, or related fields
• Experience with taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and rule libraries
• Strong attention to detail and structured data proficiency
• Ability to translate governance decisions into precise, testable rules
• Familiarity with DAMA/DMBOK concepts
• Clear communication skills
