Unison Consulting is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. This role focuses on building and maintaining robust data infrastructure and pipelines to support our data-driven initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Implement and manage infrastructure using Terraform and other automation scripts to deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing Snowflake environments. Ensure adherence to data governance and security policies. Automate infrastructure provisioning, testing, and deployment for streamlined operations.
• SQL & DBT Expertise: Leverage strong SQL and dbt (data build tool) skills to build and maintain scalable data models. Utilize modular SQL, Jinja templating, robust testing strategies, and dbt best practices.
• Data Warehouse Proficiency: Gain hands-on experience with Snowflake, including dimensional and data vault modeling (star/snowflake schemas), performance optimization, query tuning, and managing role-based access and security.
• Data Pipeline & Integration: Work with event streaming tools like Kafka for real-time data ingestion. Become familiar with ETL/ELT workflow design, orchestration, and monitoring using tools such as SnapLogic.
• Version Control & Automation: Utilize Git and GitHub for code versioning and collaboration. Implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools to automate dbt model testing, deployment, and documentation updates.
• Data Quality & Governance: Ensure data quality through strong data validation, testing (e.g., dbt tests), and lineage tracking. Maintain data trust across all pipelines and models.
• Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver actionable insights. Communicate complex data concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Documentation & Communication: Maintain comprehensive documentation for data models, metrics, and transformations using tools like dbt docs. Possess strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Problem-Solving & Ownership: Proactively identify and resolve data gaps and issues. Demonstrate a self-starter attitude with a continuous improvement mindset focused on delivering business value through data.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
• Strong command of SQL and Pl/SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake.
• Experience with dbt (data build tool).
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices and tools.
• Expertise in Terraform.
