Full Job Description
Join ShipTech Analytics (STA) at Amazon as a Data Engineer in Hyderabad, India, to contribute to the data and analytics infrastructure that powers Amazon's global transportation network. You will be instrumental in building an intelligent, autonomous, and scalable performance management and decision support system for Amazon Transportation.
As a Data Engineer, you will develop standardized data solutions, including near-real-time (NRT) streaming and batch processing pipelines, to deliver critical insights for operational teams worldwide. You will also create data tools that support self-service analytics, automate operational tasks, and contribute to AI-powered solutions for automated insights across the transportation network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build scalable NRT streaming and batch data pipelines for Amazon's global transportation network.
- Develop data products and tools encompassing the full data lifecycle: ingestion, processing, backfill, storage, vending, and operational support.
- Collaborate with operations and analytics stakeholders to understand requirements, design solutions, and deliver impactful datasets and tools.
- Ensure data quality and implement enhancements to improve operational excellence and customer experience.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to standardize analytics capabilities and develop AI-driven automation.
- Utilize AWS cloud technologies to transform raw data into actionable metrics.
- Promote continuous improvement through code reviews, design discussions, operational best practices, and security compliance.

Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of data engineering experience.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.
- Experience with at least one scripting language such as Python, KornShell, or Scala.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with big data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
- Experience with AWS technologies: Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, FireHose, Lambda, and IAM roles/permissions.
