Data Engineer

As a Senior Data Engineer II at FedEx ACC in Chennai, India, you will be instrumental in developing, optimizing, and maintaining robust business intelligence and data warehouse systems. Your role will ensure secure and efficient data storage and retrieval, empower self-service data exploration, and provide stakeholders with insightful reporting and analysis.

• Support the development and maintenance of business intelligence and analytics systems to drive data-driven decision-making.
• Implement business intelligence and analytics systems in alignment with business requirements.
• Design and optimize data warehouse architecture for efficient storage and retrieval of large datasets.
• Enable self-service data exploration capabilities for users to independently analyze and visualize data.
• Develop reporting and analysis applications to generate actionable insights for business stakeholders.
• Design and implement data models to effectively organize and structure data for analytical purposes.
• Implement data security and federation strategies to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information.
• Optimize business intelligence production processes and adopt best practices to enhance efficiency and reliability.
• Provide training and support to users on business intelligence tools and applications.
• Collaborate with and manage relationships with vendors, overseeing project management activities for timely and successful implementation of business intelligence solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Statistics, or a similar discipline, with a Master's degree or PhD being preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant data engineering experience is required for this Senior II position.

Key skills include fluency in English, strong analytical, numerical, planning, and organizing skills, along with accuracy and attention to detail. Proficiency in presentation skills, data modeling and database design, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load), and programming is essential.
