Data Engineer

Description

The Selling Partner Insights and Analytics (SPIA) team at Amazon is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to architect the data platform powering Paragon, a critical Human-in-the-Loop system processing over 500 million annual cases for more than 200 teams globally.

This high-impact role suits self-starters passionate about building data-intensive applications in a fast-paced environment. You will leverage vast datasets and Amazon's AI/LLM focus to redefine data access, trust, and application across Selling Partner Services, directly enhancing customer experience within the world's largest e-commerce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and operate scalable, cost-effective AWS-based data infrastructure for reporting, analytics, and LLM/ML models.
• Create logical data models that support Paragon's expansion into Emerging Markets worldwide.
• Collaborate with business leaders to define requirements and deliver solutions aligned with real-world needs.
• Maintain Best-At-Amazon standards for efficiency, consistency, availability, and compliance (IMR).
• Implement data access controls and enable efficient exploration of large datasets.
• Build automation tools that enhance operational excellence across the full engineering lifecycle: design, development, testing, and maintenance.

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years in Data Engineering
• Proficiency with SQL
• Experience in data modeling, warehousing, and ETL pipeline construction
• Familiarity with query languages (e.g., SQL, PL/SQL, DDL, HiveQL)
• Scripting language experience (e.g., Python, KornShell)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Big Data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, SSIS, Datastage)
• AWS Infrastructure knowledge
