Data Engineer

Description

Amazon's Selling Partner Insights and Analytics (SPIA) team seeks an experienced Data Engineer to architect and build Paragon, Amazon's second-largest Human-in-the-Loop platform. This high-impact role involves designing scalable AWS-based data infrastructure for 500 million+ annual cases serving 70,000+ users in support and investigation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing cost-effective data pipelines on native AWS technologies.
• Defining logical data models that scale with Paragon's global growth.
• Partnering with business owners to shape architecture for real needs.
• Driving Best-At-Amazon (BAA) standards for efficiency and compliance.
• Enabling efficient exploration of large datasets and implementing access controls.
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• 1+ years of data engineering experience with SQL, data modeling, warehousing, ETL pipelines, query languages (e.g., SparkSQL), and scripting (Python/KornShell).
• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR.
• Familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica, SSIS, Datastage.
• AWS Infrastructure knowledge.
